Aviatrix Distributed Cloud Firewall
Strengthens and Simplifies
Multi-Cloud Network Security
EMA IMPACT BRIEF
Aviatrix Introduces New Multi-Cloud
Security Solution
Multi-cloud networking vendor Aviatrix introduced Distributed Cloud
Firewall, a network security solution that inspects traffic and enforces
policies across all application paths within a multi-cloud architecture,
eliminating the need for redirecting traffic to centralized firewalls. With
cloud-aware policy creation, programmable interfaces, and support for multi-
cloud environments, Distributed Cloud Firewall helps cloud infrastructure
teams scale network security, simplify operations, and optimize costs.
The Distributed Cloud Firewall
In today's multi-cloud architectures, organizations often struggle to unify
network security. Some companies use the firewall solutions that individual
cloud providers offer, but these firewalls are proprietary to a single cloud
provider, making it difficult to manage security policy across providers. In
fact, EMA research recently found that only 12% of multi-cloud enterprises
believe it is very easy to manage security policies across multiple clouds with
consistency.

Other enterprises will deploy virtual versions of their incumbent data center
firewall into their clouds. However, these virtual appliances are usually
centrally deployed, with all east/west and north/south traffic in a given
cloud location routed through it for inspection. This design choice can add
complexity and degrade performance.
