Principal Product Manager – Security
Role Overview: As a Principal Product Manager – Security at Aviatrix, you will lead the development and execution of our security product strategy, focusing on delivering solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will collaborate closely with engineering, design, marketing, and customer success teams to drive product innovation, define metrics for success, and ensure the highest standards of security across our platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Vision:
- Define and articulate the security product vision and roadmap, aligning with Aviatrix's overall mission and customer needs.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and gaps in the cloud security landscape.
Customer Focus:
- Engage with customers to understand their security challenges, requirements, and feedback.
- Advocate for customer needs within the organization, ensuring our security solutions effectively address real-world use cases.
Technical Expertise:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement security features across multi-cloud network environments and at Edge.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in cloud security technologies, threats, and best practices.
Product Metrics and Performance:
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of security products.
- Analyze product performance data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies and support product launches.
- Partner with customer success and support teams to ensure customer satisfaction and effective issue resolution.
Core Skills in Network Security and Cloud Security:
- Strong expertise in cloud security technologies, including network segmentation, firewall technologies, and threat detection.
- In-depth knowledge of security frameworks, encryption methods, and compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
- Hands-on experience with cloud provider security solutions, such as AWS Firewall, Azure Firewall and Security Center, and network segmentation.
- Understanding of zero-trust security models, identity and access management (IAM), and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Experience with security incident response, logging, and monitoring tools like SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, ELK, AWS GuardDuty).
- Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and integration of security best practices into CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) security policies and tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and AWS Config.
- Strong grasp of API security, container security (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), and workload protection strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on security products in the cloud or networking domain.
- Proven track record of defining and launching successful security products.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking and security concepts, including network segmentation, firewall technologies, and threat detection.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute methodically, with a customer-first mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multi-cloud environments and associated security challenges.
- Familiarity with compliance standards and frameworks relevant to cloud security.
- MBA or equivalent business experience.
The compensation range for this full-time position is $210,800.00 - $232,700.00 + benefits + 401(k) match + equity. The pay range is determined by the role, work location, job-related skills, level, experience and relevant education. The range displayed is applicable only for new hires for the listed position located in the US. Your total compensation package will be based on job-related knowledge, education, certifications and location, per our aligned ranges.
