Employee Spotlight – Randolph Chung, Vice President, Engineering for Edge Solutions

Randolph Chung VP Engineering for Edge SolutionsQ. What attracted you to Aviatrix?
A. It was the right place at the right time. Aviatrix is a rising star in multicloud networking; and expanding rapidly in the edge space. I spent the last 10 years at Google working on various parts of edge networking, so there was a good fit for my skills and opportunities to help Aviatrix grow.

Q. What can you say about your Aviatrix adventure to date?
A. It’s been a little chaotic, but in a good way. I feel energized that leadership is moving the company in the right direction both from a business and engineering execution perspective.

Q. What can you share about the caliber of people you work with in engineering—professional, experienced, innovative, collaborative, etc.
A. It feels good to be in a team of motivated engineers all working towards the company’s success. We have a set of engineers from diverse backgrounds and are continuing to attract strong engineering talent. Everybody is very collaborative and welcoming.

Q. What do you like most about the company so far?
A. Two things stand out to me. From a company, business, and product perspective, I really enjoy having the opportunity to work with our product/solutions and account teams to talk to customers and see firsthand how Aviatrix is helping to solve their problems. It’s clear from these conversations that there are gaps in the existing technologies available in the market, and Aviatrix has a compelling platform and product roadmap to help solve those problems. From an engineering perspective, there are lots of challenging problems to solve and the team at Aviatrix moves quickly to deliver.

Q. Is there anything else you’d like to mention that a prospective employee (or someone looking to join your team) may find interesting?
A. It’s a great time for engineers to join who want opportunities to be very close to the customer and seeing their work directly translate to impact to Aviatrix and our customers.
