Change is one of the few constants in the rapidly evolving cloud networking industry. 2024 brought innovations in GenAI, a renewed emphasis on resiliency and security, and new partnerships and integrations across the ecosystem. In this blog series, Aviatrix leaders will discuss what cutting-edge innovations and rising challenges in cloud networking and security they’re seeing come into focus in 2025. See previous blog posts on cloud networking and security in 2025 here.

Bryan Ashley, VP of Product Marketing at Aviatrix, has over 15 years of experience as a network engineer and product strategist. As a former Microsoft Azure Global Black Belt, he brings a holistic knowledge of networking challenges to his role in shaping network security, resiliency, performance, and agility initiatives. His specialty is creating innovative, long-term solutions for customers’ greatest networking challenges.

In 2025, Bryan sees organizations acting and reacting to the growing opportunities and new risks of AI, as well as increasing cloud complexity and costs:

Rising AI Use and Cybersecurity

The cloud computing landscape is set to undergo transformative changes across several critical areas. Artificial intelligence will continue to drive innovation, with its integration into cloud platforms and 3rd party solutions enabling more personalized customer experiences and accelerating breakthroughs in fields like healthcare and scientific research.

However, this rapid adoption of AI will bring new cybersecurity challenges, prompting organizations to implement more sophisticated security measures to protect their expanding digital ecosystems. We may even begin to see AI lend a hand again to help solve some of the problems it creates.

Resilient Infrastructure at Center Stage

To support the increasing demands of AI, resilient infrastructure will take center stage, with significant upgrades to network capabilities and anticipated high-data transfers. Networking solutions will also evolve to meet the requirements of AI-driven workloads, with businesses either:

  • Enhancing their networks to handle this surge (Networking for AI), or
  • Relying on real AI innovations to manage the complexities (AI for Networking).

Be warned that the landscape is currently littered with AI-washing, so we have to keep an eye on those vendors who embrace the technology to help vs. just to market.

Multicloud Adoption

Multicloud adoption strategies will continue to grow, not only to optimize performance and avoid vendor lock-in but also to keep costs under control as cloud adoption continues to scale rapidly.

These trends highlight a dynamic future for 2025 where innovation, security, resilience, and cost efficiency will define the next chapter of cloud computing.
