As organizations strive to build and maintain networks that deliver high-performance connectivity, secure valuable data, and optimize costs, many find that hosting their networks in a single cloud limits their options. A large number of organizations find that hybrid and multicloud environments offer valuable flexibility, as they allow networking teams to choose best-in-class features and apps in each cloud and mean less dependence on any one vendor. Futuriom’s newly-released 2024 Multicloud Networking and NaaS Survey Report, a survey of 131 IT and networking professionals, reflected a growing majority view among IT providers that Multicloud Networking (MCN) technology is now essential in the current networking landscape, with 95% of respondents saying there is a “critical” or “very important” need for MCN connectivity. This number increased from 90% last year.
Aviatrix is proud to announce that this report names us as a key stakeholder in the Multicloud Networking (MCN) ecosystem. This is the second year Aviatrix has been named as a tech leader.
The report explores why so many organizations recognize the need for robust multicloud and hybrid cloud solutions. Many respondents said that these solutions are needed to drive hybrid cloud integrations, simplify application connectivity, and set up multicloud networking policies, but their relevance for AI development was also clear: 82% of survey respondents thought the arrival of AI services would increase the need for multicloud networking services.
The report names Aviatrix as a key stakeholder in this growing MCN ecosystem, helping solve “broad and complex” multicloud and hybrid cloud challenges. In a landscape where many organizations are scrambling to address security concerns, cost challenges, complexity issues, and other problems through multicloud networking architecture, solutions like Aviatrix provide invaluable clarity and consistency for policy enforcement and infrastructure.
Futuriom’s report also highlighted some key partnerships Aviatrix has made to improve the multicloud and hybrid cloud options available for customers. Aviatrix’s partnership with Megaport enables customers to run Aviatrix’s multicloud solution over Megaport’s vast network of connection points, providing much-needed flexibility for hybrid and multicloud workloads.
Aviatrix’s partnership with Equinix “leverages Equinix’s Network Edge and Equinix Fabric to deliver high-performance encrypted connections across clouds,” further improving customers’ options for secure connectivity in the multicloud and hybrid cloud space.
The report also calls out Aviatrix’s investment in innovation through service-mesh capabilities with its contributions to another cloud-native open-source project, Istio.
“Aviatrix has been at the forefront of solving some of the key needs in multicloud networking, including the top drivers identified by end users in our survey—visibility, security, network integration, and cost control,” said Scott Raynovich, Founder and Chief Analyst at Futuriom. “As AI and other data-intensive application come to the fore, control, and security over multicloud networking is more important than ever.”
