Q. You’ve held network and security leadership roles at Trace3 for nearly a decade and before that, Cisco for eight years. Why did you decide to leave and join Aviatrix?
After spending 17 years garnering invaluable experience and deep knowledge in campus and data center networking, I longed for a new chapter and career challenge, one that would allow me to expand my cloud networking and security skillset. I hope to couple my new technology knowledge with my data center background and my ability to work with customers to develop and implement keen solutions. I take a lot of pride in my work and enjoy helping and making a difference to my customers and the people I work with. What Aviatrix is doing is truly innovative and I’m excited to be part of this team and a be trusted partner to our customers.
Q. What inspires you most about your new job here and how does it differ from previous roles and organizations you’ve worked at?
From day one, you notice an unrivaled commitment, support, and energy that the Aviatrix team possesses. It’s impressive. Working in a space where the solution truly makes a difference to customers is what drives me—we’re helping enterprises alleviate vast cloud networking pain points and other challenges while improving security.
Q. When you interviewed for this position, you came fully prepared and stood out amongst a sea of other candidates. What tips would you give a peer looking to join Aviatrix?
Don’t make it complicated. Prepare for the interview. No matter how many years of experience you may have, take the time to learn about the company, the technology, and its customers. Be honest about what you know and what you don’t.
Pooja has nearly two decades of experience in the networking industry. Prior to joining Aviatrix, she spent nearly nine years at Trace3, an elite technology consultancy providing IT strategy, solutions, and services to some of the world’s most admired companies, where she served as Director of Engineering as well as Director of Network and Security Solutions. She previously spent eight years at Cisco in technical leadership positions, finishing her tenure there as Technical Lead, as a member of the Technical Services Incubation team.
